November 30th, 2007 - The Mash Up
As Shizentai mentions on the board, we still love good mash ups that work.
Most of the time it involves a vocal track laid over an instrumental/dub
version of a dance track such as this white label by Alice Deejay Vs Rozalla.
But increasingly, songs such as Rapture Riders and Every Car You Chase are
popping out. What other GOOD mash ups do you know?
November 29th, 2007 - I Am David Sparkle
Dreams require music to trigger and sometimes pills. I've been having some
narratives pop out after listening to local post-rockers/shoegazers I Am David Sparkle. The 4 members make sounds that remind me
of Mogwai, but without the vocals. I would like to pick up their album This Is
The New, but that would require going out in this rainy weather. And pills.
November 28th, 2007 - Muon
While I don't personally know Nick Chan, Edwin Leong or Leopold, I do like the
SOUNDSCAPES local band Muon produces. I found out about them when I decided to
quit the label in NYC. While I was dreaming up All Things Being, they were the
first band to come to mind for the Sonic Lust concert. So even though I didn't
dare put any real bands in the comic then, I HAD to get Muon in somehow.
November 27th, 2007 - Extreme Reuniting
Extreme is getting back together for a new album and tour in 2008! Original
members Gary Cherone, Nuno Bettencourt and Pat Badger are still rocking, but
with a new drummer Kevin Figueiredo. Not sure if this news will make anyone
get excited, although it did make me crack out their Best Of album today and
give More Than Words a few spins. (Video link does not have guitar solo)
November 26th, 2007 - Death Village
It's Monday, don't work, time for more web games! Today we go to Death Village!
Help get a poor explorer through haunted houses to the stage exit. You cannot
control him, but you can use your mouse to "guide/scare" him. Knock on windows,
push/pull/slam doors, turn on trap staircases. You'll need to think a little
to get him out alive! How far can you get him? Enjoy.
November 24th, 2007 - You're Pitiful
This is probably old news to some of you, but there are times when some Weird
Al Yankovic is needed to make you feel like a Winner. This is his version of
James Blunt's overplayed song, aptly titled "You're Pitiful". PITY it didn't
make it onto his latest album Straight Outta Lynwood.
November 23rd, 2007 - Pet Shop Boys Disco 4
WTF?! Disco 4 only has two PSB songs (Integral and I'm With Stupid)! What
happened to remixes of THEIR stuff? I bought this for remixes of The Killer's
Read My Mind and Madonna's Sorry. The David Bowie, Atomizer and Rammstein
tracks seem tacked on, although Yoko Ono's Walking On Thin Ice is somehow
irritatingly stuck in my head. Eyes, eyes, eyes, eyes!
November 22nd, 2007 - Death Smiles
Wow. I finally got a chance to play this new Cave shooter today. It's a horizontal
scroller, which is not my forte, but it grew on me after the second credit.
It reminds me of Progear No Arashi from 2001 on Capcom's CPS2 board. I managed
to reach 4-1 on 1 coin. You can see a much better player here. And read my rant
here. I'm going to try to 1CC this before year end.
November 21st, 2007 - Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 OST
I've been constantly listening to this CD as I'm inking the last leg of Zoe.
Composed by the legendary Yuzo Koshiro (Bare Knuckles/Streets of Rage, Super
Shinobi, Ys, Actraiser), the WMMT 1 & 2 OST was full of trance, but this one
takes it to a higher level. Put speakers on LOUD: Coin Entry, Stage Select,
Inexhaustible Energy, Cause You're Different, Phantom Of Blue.
November 19th, 2007 - Waking Zoe Preview Uploaded
Art style changing. Genre changing. Like it may not you. Confused be will.
29 page now Stories upload preview. Sense not making me. English speaking I
not. Bed need go. OOOOOO | OOOOOO | OOOOOO << Future place. Key. Remember.
November 18th, 2007
Hello Everyone, while I try my best to check for errors in spelling, grammar
and missing text/images etc, I do mess up. SO...since everything here is free,
could all of you help me out by spotting mistakes and oddities and post in the
respective board? Please indicate the page number (simply hover over the comic
to see it appear) and possible error and I will rectify. Big thanks.
November 17th, 2007 - Intro To Shooting Games Part IV
So there you have it, a brief intro to shooting games that I hope will make
you interested in trying this old school genre old folks like me play. Bet most
of you kids can't 1CC (one coin clear) a shooter. Prove me wrong and go find
that machine in your arcade but don't continue when you die. Sorry if I didn't
cover Raizing/8ing/Toaplan games. I'm not a fan of "suiciding".
November 17th, 2007 - Intro To Shooting Games Part III
There are lots of other shooter companies out there with their own gimmicks
like Treasure's Ikaruga, Takumi's Gigawing, Success' Psyvariar and Milestone's
Karous, all trying to breathe life into a genre that is pretty much dead in
today's Halo gaming crowd. But the fact that around 3 shooters are still being
released per year is a testament to the hardcore nature of shooter fans.
November 16th, 2007 - Intro To Shooting Games Part II
I must have played and collected millions of "P" icons in Psikyo games until a
company called Cave appeared in '95. They were the pioneers of manic bullet hell.
Shooters of this kind throw slower bullets at you, but a LOT MORE. This is
currently my favorite type of shooter, with DoDonPachi DaiOuJou (the one 2P and
I can't win), ESPGaluda and Mushihimesama constantly on my PS2.

I fucked up. I loaded a page for the Tourist with some text missing. And it was
a rather important page. I didn't blank out the text to keep you all guessing.
ALL APOLOGIES. You can go straight to it here.
Be sure to clear your browsers cache if you don't notice the change. Yeah. I run a third rate operation here.
November 15th, 2007 - Intro To Shooting Games Part I
OK, in an effort to help those who don't know what the shooting games I mention
in the Tourist are, let's start at the beginning. The first shooter I started
to play seriously was Sonic Wings/Aero Fighters by the now defunct Videosystem.
The developers later formed Psikyo, now also defunct, and produced a hefty list
of shooters including Gunbird and Strikers 1945 (both of which I still enjoy).
November 14th, 2007
Added some avatar galleries for people who have registered on the board.
Go see if they suit your taste. They're mostly based off stuff I like.
You select them in Profile after logging in I think.
November 13th, 2007 - Rose & Camellia
Do you like to bitch slap? Then try this bitch slapping game by Nigoro in Links.
I can slap my way to the last fat bitch, but she bitch slapped me to death.
Can you take revenge for me? (Remember: You need to press "Attack", "Evasion" or
"Counter" before you swing your mouse or stylus like mad) This is in response
to emails I got yesterday from people complaining they are bored.
November 10th, 2007
Hello DrearyWearies, I hope everyone has been having a good time here. Thanks
for the emails. A few things, do you know you can post comments specific to a
page in the stories? Try leaving them throughout the stories for people to find.
I don't know, just a thought. Also, you can click on Browse at the top of a comic
to jump around chapters. And DO JOIN THE BOARD.
November 9th, 2007 - Street Fighter III Third Strike Guide
Those of you following the arcade news lately would probably know that Street
Fighter 4 has been officially announced by the folks at Capcom. There's a trailer
on Youtube which doesn't really do shit to hint how the actual game is. Anyway,
I'm more interested in Street Fighter III Third Strike at the moment. You see, I
haven't understood how to play this game for years, but not anymore.
November 8th, 2007
Here's wishing all the Hindu, Sikh and Jain visitors a Happy Deepavali. I know who you are!
November 7th, 2007 - Radiohead In Rainbows
OK, one of the things I'd like to do is talk about music. As you all know by now, I used to be in the industry.
And what better way to start this than to talk about Radiohead's online experiment. Head to the Board
if you'd like to say something about this album.
November 5th, 2007
A little collection of scrap drawings uploaded to Exhibits. OK, that's enough for the first day. Hopefully, the next update won't be in like months.
November 5th, 2007
The Resident Tourist Part I uploaded to Stories. The first installment of something that could go horribly wrong. Let the train wreck begin!
November 5th, 2007
All Things Being uploaded to Stories. A beginner's attempt at this thing called a comic book. This is actually the second story inked, but was the first to be released publicly.
November 5th, 2007
DrearyWeary.com officially opens. This could be interesting...
