July 28th, 2009 - STGCC'09 Launch Exclusive - Loti Vol. 1

News32

In life,
there are risks.

The risk to eat
prawn crackers (wasabi-flavored)
when you're allergic
to seafood.

The risk to tell
a girl that you love her,
knowing that there is
a 76.43% chance it could
completely blow up
in your face.

The risk to print
another book within
two months of a
previous release
when sales have been
moving at a snail's pace.

With that,
Dreary Weary Comics is
proud to present
the complete edition of
Loti Volume 1.

It includes all 300 strips,
two extra chapters and
features new artwork.
Can you say
"Happiness Level Up"?

If you enjoy
reading Loti online,
then you probably love
this thing called life,
and you probably would want
to pick this up.

We've put a lot of work
into getting this out
in time for STGCC'09.
Yup, it's going to be
a launch exclusive at
the convention so make
sure you come on down
in two weeks time!

July 21st, 2009 - Something Is Coming

News31

With STGCC '09 less than
one month away,
everybody is scrambling
to get their wares in order
before the big day.

Dreary Weary is no stranger
to NON-innovation,
so we will be launching
something at the event too!
What could it be?

Oh, one other thing.

Quite a number of you
have expressed extreme
kindness by offering
Paypal donations.
That is really a wonderful
gesture and it is greatly
appreciated!

However, we do not feel
comfortable with outright
donations and insist
that you get something
in return.
The best way you can
show your support and
help keep the flow
of new comics running
is to purchase the books
and to spread the word.

While we don't earn
much from these small
trades, it does help.
So head down to the
bookstores and comic shops
and see you all at
the convention!

July 13th, 2009 - Loti Volume 2 Start!

News30

That's right, Shuwen.
After a day of rest,
it's back to work.
Let's go for another 300.

There's no rest for the weary.
After all, this is Dreary Weary.
Hur-hur-hur.
(Lame + Sad)

Whatever!
Don't be hatin', yo.
Loti Volume Two
starts right here!

July 12th, 2009 - Loti Volume 1 End

News29

This is it. The 300th strip.
We actually reached it.
Thank you very much for
your support this past year!

Loti is really
special to me
and I'm glad we managed
to come this far.

But it's only Volume 1, you say?
There will be more Loti, right?
Ha ha ha.
Uh...yah!

Right now, though,
I think I need to sleep.

PS: In case you didn't
realize by now,
strips like today's
span more than one page.

Always click on a strip
if you see the word "Next" appear.
That means there's more.
OK, ZZ time.

July 7th, 2009 - Who Is Tornado?

News28

Before anybody accuses me
of being sua-koo, do note
that I rarely go down to town.

Anyway, I was getting some
art supplies when I checked out
Illuma today.
I didn't even know that
this new building turned out
to be a mall.
Play Imaginative has a store here?
Wow. What an eclectic mix of shops.

The last time I walked through
this space, the whole building
was still barren and had no
glass walls enclosing the space,
nor escalators.
I even thought it was an extension
of Lasalle, coz I saw a lot of
Lasalle students sitting in
the empty building.
Yeah, that was a really long time ago.

All this is not important
because on the 5th floor is an arcade.
And it's not by one of the
regular operators.
Arcadia by Tornado.

OK.

Who is Tornado?

Is this a new player in the scene?

All I know is that they have some
serious hardware up there.
The UFO Catcher/prize machines are
some of the latest machines found
in Japan. Latest as in a year ago,
that's pretty new!

And they have the above-pictured
Lindbergh Universal Cabinets!
Shit! Remember how I was bitching about
how our local operators made
their own D.I.Y. LCD cabinets using
consumer grade screens and refabricated controls?
This is the real deal.
It's almost like having a real
Taito Viewlix cabinet.
I personally think the Viewlix
is a better designed cab, but who cares?!
We have these!

Shit! Tornado, whowever you are,
I hope you guys make money!
Coz I really hope you fellas
can bring in some high-priced
hardware like the RingEdge-powered
Border Break or 機動戦士ガンダム 戦場の絆,
the Gundam P.O.D. simulator.
Charge me $10 per game, I'll play it!

Shit! I'm saying shit too much.
Another day wasted exposing myself
to too much arcade stimuli.
I hope I can finish the Loti strip
for tomorrow.

July 2nd, 2009 - STGCC '09 Coming!

News27

It's that time of the year again!

That's right, in slightly more
than a month's time, the
Singapore Toy Games & Comic Convention
will be upon us.
Check out the official website,
for what's in store.

So what does this mean for
Dreary Weary?
Well, I'll be in one
of the little booths.

Doing what?!

Erm...I don't really know the
details to everything yet.

But if you check back
throughout this month
I'm sure I'll figure
something out.

Stresssssssss!
