Random experiments of a smaller scale...
After taking a ride in one of these, I decided to do up some quick pen and ink
sketches. This set of 10 pictures traces the changes of Mitsubishi's Lancer
Evolution line of cars from the first generation to the tenth.
This 20 piece collection of inks began as sketches while I was locked up in
this thing called reservist training. When people were sleeping in their
bunks, I was sitting elsewhere with my 0.5mm mechanical pencil and trying not
to break the rhythm of my hand calisthenics.
Jit calls me one morning and says, "Hey, you wanna storyboard my short film?"
I go, "Sure dude." (Long pause) "Um, how do you storyboard a film?" These pages
are what I think storyboards look like. They were done in a day. Of particular
interest is the "Alternate Ending" I appended at the end. I think only the people
who worked on the film will get the most kick out of it.
Originally a set of eight, these were the initial drawings that came about from the
sessions I had with my doctor that kinda led to where I am today. They aren't very
good or cohesive. Only six remain, I gave her 2 of them before I left Manhattan.
If this doesn't make any sense, read the Tourist Part 1 in Stories.
